Oscillating Between Ambient and Dream-Pop
『死んでも一生』 oscillates between being an ambience project, a singer-songwriter endeavour, and a dream-pop album with a slight reminiscent of the works of Broadcast (a unit formed in Birmingham, UK in 1995), all at the same time. And perhaps it is that line that helps resolve the contradiction presented.
Reconsidering the Concept of Time
Stripping away the idea that the past requires the assistance of the memory to exist, the notion of the present being the absolute truth, and the future being the ever-present promise, we might see time as something that has happened, even when it still is. Beginning and end coming together at the same place. If we are here, we are there; If we live now, if we feel and remember, would that not mean we have been and will remain forever?
Overall Review: Layers That Set the Imagination Free
This album is an incredible body of work. Full of layers which can open up the mind for the imagination. One that can navigate the wavering waters not by taming them down but by flowing alongside them. One I am enchanted to have been brought to my attention, and one I wholeheartedly recommend.

Noguchi Bun Profile
A musician based in Tokyo. He began studying classical piano from an early age and started producing music at home in his final year of high school. In 2020, he joined C子あまね, a music collective centred around 野口文也 (Key.), serving as a composer and releasing tracks including 「晴天に雷鳥」 and 「鉄道橋」, which were featured on numerous playlists across streaming platforms. In 2023, he launched his solo project under the name “Noguchi Bun.” In 2024, his debut album 『botto』 received a special award at the APPLE VINEGAR – Music Award, organised by ゴッチ (後藤正文) of ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION. Rooted in classical music, he continues to explore an innovative sound that uniquely incorporates the essence of jazz, rock, and hip-hop.
