-Wakiki : I couldn’t help laughing when I watched the「Thinking Seat」music video — I love how natural and unguarded your vibe is. Your videos always have this warm, approachable, DIY feel to them. Is there anything you keep in mind when making music videos, or any moments from making them that have stuck with you?

Lily : Thanks very much. The music video for「Thinking Seat」was very much a natural, completely unplanned outcome. Which I love. We had such little time together because of the separate projects were both playing in this summer, and that day alone we had 3 photoshoots and a music video to make, along with a shit ton of admin, so we really struggled thinking of anything. Turns out the B-roll made excellent A-roll. Plus it meant we got to spend some actual quality time together at the pub that evening, which we rarely get to do these days.
A Dream to Play Live in Japan
-Wakiki : Lily, you once told me it was a dream of yours to play live in Japan, and that made me so happy to hear. If you do make it to Japan someday, is there anything you’re looking forward to, or anything you’d like to do while you’re here?
Lily : Yes PLEASEEE we would love love love to come to Japan. I would love to go to the Shonan Coast in Kanagawa Prefecture, where you can surf with Mount Fuji in the background!!! Epic.

Penelope Isles Band Profile
Penelope Isles are a Brighton-based indie rock / dream pop band centred around siblings Jack and Lily Wolter, originally from the Isle of Man.
Named after their mother Penelope and the island where they grew up, the band emerged in 2015. Blending shimmering melodies, hazy shoegaze textures and intimate sibling harmonies, they released their debut album『Until the Tide Creeps In』(2019) and follow-up『Which Way to Happy』(2021) on Bella Union, earning critical acclaim and extensive live experience around the world.
After a period of solo projects, they return in 2026 with their third album『3』. Now a three-piece with drummer Joe Taylor, the record was written during a monthlong surfing trip to Lagos, Portugal, and recorded live to tape at Black Bay Studio on the Isle of Lewis, off Scotland’s northwest coast.
