The Ideal Setting for Listening to 『Win Win』

─Wakiki : The album’s sound evokes a journey in which you encounter all kinds of things along the way but keep moving forward. It made me want to listen to it on my way home after a long, difficult day at work. Are there any particular moments or settings in which you would like people to listen to 『Win Win』?
Fenne : Hm! on a roof? in a car with the top down? driving home from being outdoors with people you love? on a plane?
these are the settings that inspired it — feels right that they’d be the places to absorb it.

Fenne Lily and Her Connection to Japan

「Map of Japan」 and the Japan She Hopes to Visit One Day

─Wakiki : As a Japanese music publication, I was particularly interested in 「Map of Japan」, the opening track on your previous album, 『Big Picture』. Within its gentle sound, I felt that the song portrays someone who is weary of a relationship yet still wants to go somewhere with the other person. I found it striking that Japan appears as a possible destination for those feelings, and as a Japanese person, it makes me very happy to hear the name of my own country in a song.

Have you ever visited Japan? If so, could you share any memorable experiences or places from your visit? If you haven’t been here yet, are there any places you would like to visit or things you would like to do if you had the chance to come to Japan?

Fenne : I’ve never been!
but yes, that song was about buying someone I loved a map of Japan and hoping that if either of us went we’d go together, while also kind of knowing we never would.
One of my favourite films is set in Japan, 『PERFECT DAYS』, I’d like to visit wherever that was shot(Tokyo’s traditional downtown neighborhoods).

I also think the Japanese countryside looks like it’d fix something in me, mountains and lots of sky.
I’d also love to meet a snow monkey.

A Message to Listeners in Japan

─Wakiki : Finally, could you share a message with your listeners in Japan?
Fenne : I hope I meet you one day!
Thanks for being patient.
