Nitroday’s yagihiromi Drops First Solo Album ‘lemma’

Last Updated on 2025-11-18 by a-indie

yagihiromi, a member of Nitroday who has also gained attention as a support musician for ART-SCHOOL, will release her debut solo album 『lemma』 on November 19.

Inspired by Showa modernist literature, the seven tracks combine ethereal beauty with experimental elements, traversing electronic, folk, abstract, and avant-garde territories while weaving her inner world into sound.

Additionally, this work was previewed exclusively on the BELONG Media, A-indie Discord community. Messages from members are featured at the end of this article.

About yagihiromi

Born in 1999, yagihiromi performs as a member of the rock band Cruyff while also developing diverse musical expressions through support work for bands like ART-SCHOOL, solo performances, and improvisational music.

In November 2023, she released her first mixtape 『MeV』 on the American indie label Eye Vybe Records.

She is a musician who continually challenges herself to create new sounds, unbounded by genre or format.

『lemma』

This work, 『lemma』, draws inspiration from Showa modernist literature that rejected romanticism, such as the works of Ozaki Midori and Sagawa Chika.

Led by delicate arpeggios like ripples on water, her voice continues to waver before fading away, leaving a mysterious resonance as if only the echo of poetry remains, not music.

While incorporating beautiful noise reminiscent of sampling, the music unfolds with simplicity yet profound ethereality.

The seven meticulously crafted tracks, including a cover of Ogawa Mishio’s 「Denki」, are an ode to imperfect pop, evoking the alternating cinematic worlds of David Lynch and Wim Wenders.

On this album, yagihiromi handles electric guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals, noise, editing, and mixing.

Pierre Tatami (Dr.) participates on the tracks 「tennessee」 and 「foolproof」.

The jacket photography was done by Arimoto Yumiko (SINA SUIEN), design by Dadao, and mastering by George Mori.

Prior to this release, the advance EP 『siki』 has already been released.

This EP functions as an introduction to 『lemma』 and serves as an important work suggesting the musical direction of this album.

The Meaning Behind the Album Title 『lemma』

The album title 『lemma』 derives from layering the mathematical term “lemma” (auxiliary proposition) with the Buddhist term meaning “intuitive understanding.”

yagihiromi herself describes the album’s theme as “reminiscence” and “the convergence of multiple personas,” using childhood memories, scents, and sensations within silence as clues to unite the internal fragments of herself.
