An indie pop band formed in December 2025 and based in Tokyo. The band was formed around Miguel, a Spanish game sound creator.
With Miguel’s diverse musicality rooted in game sound creation, they freely move between indie textures and mainstream anthem vibes, with songs unfolding like cinematic works containing their own narratives.
While holding genuine love for “what has been considered cool,” they refuse to settle there, instead putting a period on it and transforming it into new vibes.
In January 2026, just one month after formation, they released their 1st single “Tonight.” They are one of the most-watched upcoming bands right now.
About D.M.I.S.
Indie pop band GIRLFRIENDZ, formed in December 2025 and having just released their 1st single “Tonight” on January 21, 2026, will announce their 2nd single “D.M.I.S.” at an incredible speed of just one month.
GIRLFRIENDZ, who embrace their unique aesthetic of “horror and pop,” performed their first live show in Okinawa in January, will host their own independent event “Diary” in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo in February, and will perform in Sendai the following day, continuing their energetic activities.
The restlessness and sparkle born from rushing through these dizzying days—all of it is transformed into a groovy indie anthem, “D.M.I.S.”
Following the 1st single, the artwork is handled by Baba, an artist who has also worked on pieces by female guitarist and singer-songwriter Mei Semones, based in Brooklyn, New York. The visuals vividly capture the romantic mood of the track, making a stronger impression of the sound’s worldview.
The track steps even further into the mainstream than the 1st “Tonight,” an exquisite pop song uniquely GIRLFRIENDZ, who are always conscious of “guilty pleasure.”
