The official Discord community of music media “BELONG/A-indie” is now officially opening with a new concept!
During the pre-opening period, through interactions with various readers, we gained significant insights into how our community should be 💡
The Main Characters are “People Who Want to Recommend Music”
Through meeting one particular reader, we realized we needed to return to the concept that BELONG was founded on 10 years ago.
Previously, BELONG Media featured artists as the main characters, introducing them through the artists they were influenced by.
However, the main characters of this community are not artists, but readers – that is, “you” – who have a love for music and the passion to “recommend it to someone.”
We, the BELONG members, return to our origins of supporting “people who want to recommend music,” creating a community where your “likes” become someone else’s “gateway.”
A Place to Enjoy Both Japanese and Western Music Together
The theme of this community is “Your ‘likes’ become someone’s ‘gateway'”. No complicated music knowledge is required.
If you tell us about your favorite Japanese artists, surely someone will say “Then you might also like this Western artist.”

New Project “Furidashi Quest” Trial Version Also Launches
The protagonist, Furidashi Taro, who isn’t knowledgeable about music but has an extraordinarily strong desire to recommend it, explores the world of music together with BELONG’s writers.
We plan to broadcast live in Discord’s voice channels and later publish on YouTube, so you might discover new music while listening and chatting together.
Another New Project: “Music Language Exchange”
His dream is actually “to talk with record shop staff in Japanese and buy recommended CDs”!
To support his Japanese learning efforts and further activate international exchange through music, we’ve launched a new channel “🌍Music Language Exchange.”
Japanese people in English, overseas members in Japanese. Of course, challenges in other languages are also very welcome.
Don’t worry about mistakes – let’s introduce our favorite music to each other in our target languages.
