Teethe, a four-piece slowcore band from Denton, Texas, has announced the release of their highly anticipated second album, “Magic Of The Sale,” on August 8, 2025.

Three songs, “Magic Of The Sale,” “Holy Water,” and “Hate Goodbyes,” are currently available for advance streaming, with music videos also released.

Who is Teethe?

Teethe consists of four members: Boone Patrello, Grahm Robinson, Madeline Dowd, and Jordan Garrett.

The band started about five years ago after meeting in the Denton music scene, with each member coming from different band activities.

Patrello formed Dead Sullivan, Dowd formed Crisman, and Robinson formed MAH KEE OH. The lineup was completed when Garrett joined Dowd’s Crisman in 2019.

They discovered their own musical language through living room jam sessions and sonic experiments, free from pressure or expectations.

Success of their 2020 Debut

The band released their self-titled debut album in 2020.

The home-recorded album generated buzz, leading to sold-out physical copies and successful tours in the US and Europe.

A band born from DIY spaces and living room jams found success on a path they carved out for themselves.

Critical Acclaim

Teethe has already received high praise from the music industry. Consequence named Teethe one of the “Most Anticipated Artists To Watch in 2025,” commenting that they “will almost certainly cement themselves as leaders of the modern revival of dusty slowcore.”

What is Slowcore?

Slowcore is a rock subgenre that emerged in the United States in the early 1990s.

Also known as “sadcore,” it is characterized by extremely slow tempos, minimalist arrangements, and emotionally restrained vocals.

Starting with pioneers like Low and Codeine, its introspective style, which utilizes silence and space between notes, was a quiet rebellion against the grunge-dominated era.

Following the reappraisal of bands like Duster, its aesthetic has been inherited by contemporary artists such as Cigarettes After Sex.

It is music devoid of flashiness, quietly expressing feelings of loneliness and loss, and resonating with the listener’s heart.

Evolved Production Environment and Methods

Since their debut, the members’ equipment and home studios have been significantly upgraded, with Robinson and Patrello in particular growing into skilled engineers.

The production of “Magic Of The Sale” took place in studios spread between Dallas and Austin, with members adopting a system of uploading demos, fragments, and completed songs to a shared folder.

This innovative production process was realized by sharing guitar ideas, rhythmic foundations, and lyrics online, allowing other members to add their parts.

Collaboration with a Talented Lineup of Guest Musicians

The production process involved musicians from across the country, including MJ Lenderma, members of Wednesday, Charlie Martin of Hovvdy and Logan Hornyak of Melaina Kol.

Furthermore, string and wind players, such as cellist Emily Elkin, who has performed with Japanese Breakfast and Angel Olsen, played parts composed by Patrello.

Patrello spent four months editing everything, completed the mixing at home, and sublimated multiple visions into a single, finished work.

About the Album Tracks

“Magic Of The Sale” contains 14 tracks, and the album artwork was created by Madeline Dowd.

In contrast to the character on the debut album cover, whose perplexed expression was distorted by worry and green, tear-like drops of pigment, this album features a jester-like figure in a red costume, standing at an archway that serves as an entrance to a vast world of distant, uncharted land and sky.

This represents Teethe’s own feeling and sound on “Magic Of The Sale,” symbolizing a state of newfound confidence yet filled with questions about the unknown.

“Magic Of The Sale” is a mirror reflecting the current state of the band—a band that emerged from a corner of the Texas music scene, now with newfound confidence but still full of questions about what comes next.

What can be said for sure is that “Magic Of The Sale” will be a must-listen for slowcore fans.
